Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Deux Alpes - Any Special Birthday Suggestions?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi Everyone,

We're heading out to Deux Alpes for the first time on 2nd Jan for our Snow Buddy's 40th birthday and looking for any ideas to make it special, please?

We're a group of 6 adult intermediate boarders and skiers, and would love to find something different to do as a special treat for the big day. We hear there is a helicopter transfer over to Alpe d'huez to ski there for the day which sounds fab, and wonder if anybody has done this and would recommend?

Any other ideas for the 6 of us greatly appreciated, the helicopter sightseeing tours with Whitetracks are no good as max group size is 5 - doh!

Also, any particularly good restaurants on and off the mountain for lunch or evening out?

Thank you very much!

Very Happy Very Happy

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Heli flight to Alpe D'Huez is very good value. Best restaurant up the mountain is Diable au Coeur at the top of the Diable lift, Fee restaurant is great if there's enough snow for it to open. In town Chalet Mounier Restaurant used to be Michelin starred, not sure if it still is but good. Raison D'Ours is also an excellent restaurant. For the better end of the tourist end of the market Cellier, Doumes and Grain au Sel are all very good and although I haven't been Porte a la Cote and Alysse are supposed to be. Polar Bear is superb for a few lively beers and the Pano Bar with DJ Alan is good from 3 - 5 at 2600m.
