Poster: A snowHead

Hi everyone,
So I got offered a job in Les Gets for the season and am looking for advice on the resort. I'm looking for somewhere with a bit of buzz to it, a nice atmosphere, a good nightlife, with other mid to late 20's seasonaires working there. The opportunity to speak French would be a big bonus (harder to do in France than you might think!). Would you think Les Gets is the place I'm looking for? I have heard Morzine is better for nightlife and craic, but no job offers there yet. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Morzine's a lot bigger so I would not be surprised if there was more nightlife.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Les Gets has great seasonaire nightlife and it`s easy enough for a group of you to get a taxi to Morzine and back (minibus) if you want a bigger night out. It has plenty of bars and clubs (Igloo) and a newer apres bar one right on the slopes. Kiss goodbye to your dream of speaking much french though

You could easily work in Les Gets and live or socialise in Morzine. In Les Gets if you speak French they will happily speak French back to you and will help out with additional words etc if you want them to.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Les Gets. Been once, liked it. Decent UK owned bar (Bar Bush) at one end of the town next to a decent burger-y type restaurant called Case K2 run by a French Canadian lady. Reasonable apres ski buzz at the Hotel Bellevue right at the bottom of the main slope.
Have a look on Google Streetview. It's a nice little town.

well, that won't be where the OP wants to go as she hopes to speak some French. Though as @Nadenoodlee points out, you don't hear that much French round Les Gets.
