Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looking for somewhere different after skiing the Courchevel valley for the last few seasons, we want to try somewhere new, but also with somewhere confidence building for others in the party.

So I'm looking for somewhere with easier blues, nothing too steep, not too fussed about the mileage like the 3v's as that would only appeal to me, but somewhere that confidence can be built.

Not bothered about apres, but a bar or two to sit outside would be nice, most likely be either self catering or hotel, probably won't chalet.

Good ski school for kids and adults.

Don't really want anything more than 2 hours transfer if possible...

Italy - Courmayeur would fit the description (I loooooooove skiing there) , and multiple other places in the Aosta valley.

Somewhere in the Dolomites should suit. Endless blue runs. Corvara or Selva should meet the transfer parameter flying into Innsbruck or Bolzano.

Food is good too.

I'd go with that. Not only does it have lots of nice blues but I find they're really nicely cut into the mountain and thoroughly enjoyable to ski. Very scenic and pleasant.

Also you can pop under the tunnel and go to Les Houches and Evasion, both also packed with lovely rolling blues and easy reds.

Accommodation in Courmayeur not Cham / St Gervais though... food costs half as much and you can have pizza for breakfast

If you want France again, Evasion Mont Blanc area, including St Gervais, Combloux, Megeve. One hotel I know has particularly good instruction included.

La Plagne was my first thought but it's the important stuff that is going to swing this. Pork or cheese? Transfer time.

Corvara is looking good from the piste maps, looking at accommodation options, will take a closer look at Courmayeur

Not too fussed about france, italy would certainly be different, although my Itanglese is nowhere good as my Franglais, maybe I'll just have to speak louder and do odd hand signals

Courmayer is very nice too, and you can go to La Thuile for a day or even Chamonix by coach.

Not much in the way of screaming apres, the Italians like to go to bed early for some reason.

Best bar was "Bar Roma" with free nibbles at tea time, thy also do the best Oirsh Coffee in the alps.
must go again.

SkiWelt (Westendorf, Soll Ellmau, etc.) - for flattering blues I'd choose to stay in Westendorf (or possibly Brixen in Thale as you an easily access both sides). Easy transfer from Munich, or even closer to Innsbruck.

@Little Martin,
I remember Flims/Laax being lovely friendly skiing and 90 mins drive from Zurich if you fancy a change from France.
Megeve/Combloux/St G is a good option too

@Layne agreed, I think it might have been easier to ask where not to go.

I can think of less places which don't fit the description than places which do.

It's not. Laughing I'm going out next month and have a couple of friends each visiting for a few days. If we still have it this winter it's not a disaster - far from it - but I'll start getting hot under the collar if there's no movement by the end of the season.

I have skied Courmeyeur and while I had a good time the morning and evening cable car was a bit of a drag and there were not that many runs. OK if you are satisfied yo yo ing up and down the same runs OK. I remember howling down Gigante

I enjoyed Cervinia more as the runs were longer especially those down to Valtournenche, and varied.

But I found myself returning to the Dolomites again and again.
