Whether or not you use or expect to use the National Health Service ... or state education, roads, railways and state benefits (pensions, housing, incapacity etc.) ... or think it's a good idea for this country to be served by an army and police force ... may affect your opinion of waxation*.
I personally support the idea of waxes and the welfare state and think we should all do what's due of us.
[ski wax is quite a pollutant though - in terms of fumes and wax scraped into pure snow - and its use is probably best minimised]
