Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Madonna di Campiglio 2015 16

The latest update from Madonna di Campiglio regarding the winter season 2015 16 brings news about a ''tourist'' tax that is to be introduced from November 2015.
This will effect ALL guests staying in the resort.
It is an accommodation tax payable at check out from hotels, and apartments as follows:-
5 star, 4 star superior and 4 star hotels........................1.30 Euros per person, per night
3 star superior and 3 star hotels..................................1.00 Euro per person, per night
All other accommodation options.................................0.70 Euros per person, per night
It will apply to all accommodation whether half board, bed and breakfast or self catering

@Campiglio, is that just for Campiglio, or will other villages in the domain, such as Folgarida, also charge this tax?

Obviously, my specific interest is limited to Madonna di Campiglio, but to the best of knowledge, this tax is to be rolled out across Trentino Alto Adige from November.
I would, therefore, assume that it will apply to all resorts in the region, including Folgarida.

Hi Rob

Yes it is payable in Folgarida too.

We will be writing to all our clients regarding this. Although we have written to the local tourist office for clarification. As it is disappointing to note that one particular hotel (which we don't use) is using this new, very small, tax to increase the cost of a stay by MUCH more than the cost of the tax.

You guys in the know - I've a few days midweek out of Verona next january - how likely are the hotels in M di Cto have space / be receptive to a midweek booking, and any pointers for a likely comfortable 3-4* hotel?
Thanks

Mountain Haddock, it depends on when in Jan. The first week is a holiday in Italy and most likely the busiest week of the season.
Later in Jan you should be OK.
Why not contact the tourist office (they speak English)

Anyone know if the little drag lift from the bottom of the belvedere piste will be open in 2015/16 ? This was closed due to some sort of dispute when we went to Madonna a few years ago.

It wasn't last season, looked completely abandoned. I can see why, If you were at that end of town it would be a useful link into the system.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Could anyone tell me if there is any car parking at or near the Gondola station in Pinzolo?

Thanks G.

 You know it makes sense.
You know it makes sense.
I have a Pinzolo town map from March 2013 which clearly shows a very large car park at the gondola. The 2012/13 piste map also shows a car park at the Pinzolo gondola.

Awayday?? Realistic ??

Hoping to be in Pinzolo for a couple of weeks next Feb'. Tied into the area first week but just wondering if a trip to another Dolomite resort or area is feasible as a day trip.

Oh yes, Saslong it very nice. And then you have Gran Risa in Alta Badia (slalom/giant slalom WC competition). The whole Sella Ronda is a place to check out.
