Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Always wondered why I got a cold foot skiing, I found out last week after being rushed into hospital with a "dead leg" had emergency surgery & fingers crossed all is going well. All sorted & done within 48hrs which is quite impressive.
Poplitial Embolism (aka blocked artery behind knee) a long term injury it transpires from when I broke my knee 15 years ago & I damaged the artery. A damaged part of the artery caused an embolism (blood clot) which stopped almost all flow to my lower left leg. Thankfully some blood got through partly due to me growing a small extra artery apparently!
Anyway fixed for now, no skiing till end of the year at least.

@Cptsideways
, Glad you got it sorted. You can hot-foot it to the slopes next year.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Bit of an update folks, that post was just after my op
Long term prognosis looks good, but I have some permanent damage to nerves after the dead leg & a fairly hefty scar on my shin to show the girls. It still works fine though! the leg that is
So I'm looking to hit the slopes for first time since the op - Before Xmas
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Sounds like a bit of an odd one, but you discovered it at the right time in the season
Makes you wonder how many people have long term injuries that never got picked up and they just learn to live round.
