Poster: A snowHead
|
I'm going to Val Claret, Tignes in January and I was wondering if there was anywhere we can store our luggage on the final day so we can get in as much ski time as possible. We are staying in a self-catering apartment and we have to be out by 10am but we don't actually leave until 4pm.
Also if anyone has any recommendations for good places to eat (more quantity than quality) and any good ski schools for a couple of hours to help dust off the cob-webs.
Cheers guys.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

In Val d'Isere you can leave luggage at the bus station (for a modest fee). Maybe the same applies in Val Claret?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The Maison de Tourisme in Tignes Le Lac has a left luggage place, along with showers and so on if you need those before departure. I would expect the one in Val Claret to have something similar.

Not uncommon for appt blocks in French resorts to have a room that gets used for luggage on changeover days. Rarely secured but take the passports and go easy on the gadgets and you should be ok.

As restaurants change season to season keep an eye out for the Tignes thread in snow reports for recommendations as I try them out. There are a couple of family run stalwarts - the Armallis in Val Claret and Eterlou in Le Lac would fit your requirements.

mitemplin The tourist office in Val Claret - as well as the one in Le Lac - has a left luggage facility. Showers too IIRC.
