Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just wondering if anyone has ever used these:
http://www.lib-tech.com/skis/fully-functional-five/
I know the brand will be well known to our snowboarding cousins. I have some questions about the skis.
1) Do the serrated/jagged edges cause a problem when skiing
2) Wouldn't the serrated/jagged edges cause a problem if/when you want to get the skis serviced and the edges sharpened?
Any thoughts or help welcome.
Thanks

1) No
2) Service by hand or use special Lib-Tech tool kit.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

NAS have been around for ages but in all honesty have seen very few on the mountain so you won't find many who have used magnetraction in skis.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I have used some Lib Tech NAS with a waist around 120mm many years ago. They were pre rocker 2007/8 season and I borrowed them for 2 days in Whistler. The ski was pretty stiff and a bit lifeless but could bust through anything. They weighed a lot however I could just about manage to spin on them in the blue park and slid a few rails just to see if the Magnatraction hooked up (it didn't). On ice I felt the magnatraction worked pretty well. It gave sufficient grip to be able to get an edge in more than normal despite the fact that the edges weren't exactly tuned. However the grip felt a little weird as its only under foot.
Hope that helps a bit.
