Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Volkl Karma Sizing Help!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi, I am currently in the market for some Volkl Karmas, and need input on what size I should get (I'm considering either the 177s or 169s). I am 5'9", 165 lbs., and would say I'm an 8+ skier. Thanks!

What's an 8+ skier? Confused snowHead
What's 165 lbs? Razz

I'm 85Kg (sometimes more sometimes less!) and am on the 177s, I don't think I'd want too much longer as I like skiing bumps and trees as well as powder/crud (I've even skied a GS course on them!), for which this length is about perfect. They are pretty stiff so feel like a big ski. I demoed 169s before buying 177s, there wasn't too much powder that day so not sure how the shorter ski would fare flotation wise, but generally the 177s feel a little more stable and are a little better on hardpack, the 169s are slightly more nimble but felt a little short to me, I reckon that if you are going for a fairly big ski, super nimble isn't really what I'd want them for I'd use my GS skis or get slalom skis for that.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
