Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi Everyone
I have been trying to research childcare costs in Austria but am having some trouble finding detailed information. My partner and I have been trying to move out to Austria (specifically Innsbruck) for some time now and have a 3 year old (4 in May) and a baby on the way (July due date).
I work offshore and have the flexibility of coming and going as I please, but my partner (a high school English teacher) is keen to work from September to try and integrate more and learn German. With this in mind, we would want both kids in childcare from September when she could hopefully start teaching.
We have found some information for childcare for our nearly 4 year old (which would be a kindergarten apparently around 250-300 euros a month) but there seems to be a sever lack of information as to how to accommodate the baby.
Does anyone have any information regarding costs for the baby until it is 1 and a half where she can also go to kindergarten? I believe it might be a nanny or childminder type situation?
Many thanks in advance.

Have you tried ex pat forums, or there is a group I'm aware of called something like 'English speakers in Tirol' who may be better placed to help as they live in Austria

You asked about your partner's prospects of teaching in a previous thread, didn't you? Samerberg Sue, who is an expert on the subject, was rather discouraging about the difficulties. Just looked it up -
