Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Lech-Warth link. Has it made a big difference?

It's that bittersweet time when one season ends Sad - but the next can be planned... Smile

I like to visit new areas and as such, although I love Lech, it wouldn't normally be on my radar again for a few years as I've been there quite recently.

BUT - that was before the link to Warth was built and as I generally love these separate-but-linked resorts (eg Paradiski and Arosa-Lenzerheide) I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who's been to Lech and used the link to ski Warth.

Does the link open up a great new ski area and add a whole new aspect to skiing in Lech?
Or does it simply mean hauling donkey over to a tin-pot few runs in the backside of beyond?

I loved the Warth area for skiing, but we were only there for a day as we were staying in St Anton. It was just after it opened, maybe early last season or the year before I think. Lots of nice steep terrain, more interesting than Lech, but the restaurants in the main hub were awful. Completely characterless. We found a fabulous little place a bit off the beaten track heading back to the link to Lech, and then soon after lunch the wind picked up so we were herded rapidly back to Lech as they were going to close the link.

So, yeah, I loved it, but we were in the area for another reason. Would I go back to Lech because of the Warth link? Not sure, don't think so. That's not a lot of help to you...

Warth has a fairly extensive area, some lovely runs, a decent lift system (fast lifts and chairs with covers) and the village is very picturesque.

We had two great ski days there in January, including some powder, as part of a week skiing Bregenzerwald resorts. Unfortunately we didn't get to Lech/Zuers as it was stormy both days and the gondola link was at risk of closure.

@mountainaddict, @Pending, Thanks Guys. Steep terrain suits me and I'm not bothered about dodgy eateries so it sounds like there's enough there to tempt me back.

Or maybe I was just looking for a reason
