Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Thermal socks okay as ski socks?

Are thermal socks okay to use as ski socks? I have spotted these below:



The description says that they have increased compression as the sock moves down, thermal heat properties and air-intake system for comfort. They are only £2 which made me think I could save a few pennies on replacing my old ski socks?

I would have thought they would be absolutely fine. I've worn all sorts of different types of socks as ski socks and seldom had any problem at all. As long as they aren't lumpy or too short then I doubt you can go far wrong.

Could be OK could be useless. As people get more experienced with boots they generally get thinner and thinner socks rather than a generic sock of unknown thickness.
