Any recommendations for Chefs night off when we go out their?
Ideally like somewhere that serves food from 5pm which seems to be the difficulty. We are staying in Pepi Gabl in case that makes a difference and we have two children.

San Antonio Pizza... Just up Nassereinerstrasse from where you are. Great food, and not just pizza, and good atmosphere.

There are so many places it's hard to know where to start. Eating early shouldn't be a problem.
Pizza? If so I'd go to Pomodoro (top of the pedestrian zone) or Floriani which is a 5 minute walk up Alte Arlberg Strasse (the road between Rendlbahn and Galzigbahn). Neither take reservations.
Burgers - the new bistro at the bottom of Galzig looks good or the Underground is lively and does food all day, there'll be live music and it can get busy.
I totally agree with @stanton, Skiing Buddha is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been too and is open all day.
Austrian - Fuhrmannstube or Maximillian are near the church, both are good - you might want to check opening times though, they might not be open at 5.
Posh Austrian - Schwarzeradler.
Fondue - Biffangalm, the hut near the bottom of the Rendl piste, not eaten there in the evenings but I think they pick you up in a snowcat. The wine list is excellent! In town the Train is excellent, very nice schnitzel there too.
Steak - Sporthotel.
Ski bum - buy a ham and cheese sandwich and bottle of beer from the Spar and eat it sitting on the pavement 
Personally I don't like Scotty's, maybe I was unlucky but I've had poor service from arrogant English or Aussie kids too many times (OK, twice, but that's enough).

I think Bifang is still the option offered by the reps, however doesn't always get the best reviews from people I've spoken to. Best bet is probably San Antonios, although Pizza. Burger Express mentioned already is good to and literally a stone's throw from the Pepi. Although good, I don't think Maximillians opens until 6 so might be a bit late for you. The food at Anthony's (either the pizzeria or steak house below) I can also recommend, ditto the Alte Post, although they are towards the Galzig end of town and so might be a bit of a schlep if you have tired kids in tow.

In that case I'd avoid it too. I'd still recommend the Train for fondue. Personally I don't like quite that much cheese, but it's a popular night out for a lot of folks.

I had a really nice meal in the restaurant above Pete's. It also looked like a cruisey place for a quiet drink.

Thanks all. Great info. @sah, we have been caught out in the past with not finding places which serve food early. Smaller places I can understand but we have found similar issues in Courchevel 1850 as well.

Austrians tend to eat much earlier than the French, plus a lot of places in St Anton serve food during apres ski, so from 4pm onward (e.g. the Underground, Griabli, Happy Valley and many more).

Ah that is good to know - for various reasons (including having out destination changed by TO two weeks before going!) we have only been to France and Bulgaria since having children and wanting to eat early.
