When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mayrhofen ski edge and waxing?

Can anyone advise me how much an edge and wax costs in Mayrhofen 2015? I had a quick google and seen tht intersport brundl do an edge and was for 23 Euro but I'm not sure where it is at or if it's near the penken gondola?

My other options to make a 60 mile round trip and pay £25 before i go.

My ski's were brand new and have done 1 full weeks skiing in 2013.

Intersport have 2 shops in Mayrhofen, one on the lower part of the main street and the other at the Ahorn lift station. That sounds about right for a mini service. There are also a couple of shops at the penken lift station. http://www.spiess.at/de/preise.html and http://www.rentforfun.eu/ski-service/?lang=en They are normally pretty good as well and if the edges are alright, they will just wax them for you and not tuck you up for the whole lot.

Thanks for the reply, I might just drop them off for a service when i get there then, I'm staying up the top end of town between the ahorn and the penken so cant be too far away from what i remember.

A shop in Mayrhofen made a complete mess of my skis recently. So my advice would be to get them done before you go. If you must get them done in Mayrhofen then I'll say that the shop that messed up my skis was NOT The Green Room or Intersport.
