Just purchased some new s7's in 188cm to replace my old very very tired ones (yes i like them,!!) and the serial numbers don't match i.e they are not really a pair
Will it make any difference??

If there are a lot of 8's in one of the numbers then the extra ink will be heavier than the other one.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think the old days where a wizened old man used to match up pairs before the numbers were stamped are long gone. I've never checked mine, and I certainly wouldn't worry about it. Modern manufacturing methods pretty much guarantee they'll all be the same.

Not even close With "modern manufacturing methods", which are at least in ski industry pretty much same and unchanged for last 30 years, they are not able to reproduce single pair, and I'm talking about racing service department, where they really try to reproduce some old(er) fast(er) pair. For mass production, things are just worse, not better.

You'll need to Register first of course.

But unless you're good enough to be getting them from 1st or 2nd line stock, free from the race dept. you won't notice the difference.

If ones odd and one even numbered, make sure you separate them at night or you'll end up with lots of little snow-blades everywhere...

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@Richard_Sideways, Sorry, both are odd numbered............ Have stuck them on a flat bench and one has a very very tiny bit more camber than the other (which is more camber than the old ones have!) but i have never looked at any differences between a matching pair before..................
Hand flexing there seems to be no difference, which is a mega inaccurate measurement!

rarely a truer word spoken! Hand flexing tells you little if anything...
Really. You won't notice anything. Unless you, your physique, your technique and everything else are perfectly symmmetrical (they're not...) and you ski well enough to be on the WC circuit (and you wouldn't be asking this here if you were...).

I expect that there is another "pair" out there with exactly the same serial numbers and camber
