Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We have Geneva flights booked for 12-18 March and would like to stay in Les Gets, but wondering how snow is usually around that time. Spring snow? Slushy? Worn off the pistes?
Could change to the last week of Feb but I believe Paris schools have mid-term then. So that could mean long queues and busy pistes?
Having spent this Christmas shedding tears on the green slopes of Les Gets, and bussing it to hour-long queues in Avoriaz, I just want to get some decent skiing in!

@5RED
, I've skied in Les Gets/Morzine a few times mid-March. Weather and snow ranged from cold with fresh powder, to hot with icy pistes first thing (if you're lucky) and soft, slushy snow in the afternoons. Impossible to say what the conditions will be like in March this year, other than it will be a bit warmer than resorts which have higher altitude skiing.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Last year was exactly like that, the week end 22/3 was hot and sunny all week, hard in the morning and turning slushy by mid afternoon, T-shirt and sun block weather. At the weekend the weather turned with wonderful snow and powder for the next week with an empty resort and the slopes virtually to ourselves, full thermals needed.
We have had some wonderful days in Les Gets in March and some rubbish ones.
A few years back, we had probably our best 2 days ever over a late Easter in April when we drove out on Good Friday skied the Sat and Sun and drove home on the Monday. We had fresh powder both mornings together with totally empty slopes. It was a stunning snow "fix" which kept us smiling all summer.
We're heading out to Les Gets that same week and are keeping our fingers crossed that the current good base gets preserved.
Nowhere is busy that week so why not leave booking your accommodation until the absolute last minute and book a car that way you can leave your options completely open.
