Arno, no mega-dumps, I don't think. Possibly a few cm in Austria, less in Switzerland and one or 2 flakes in France/Italy.
Nothing major looking likely this side of the New Year at the moment.

If this predicted weather comes off (even the Beeb are predicting wintry weather now) then from Christmas Day onwards the UK is in for a bit of a shiver...
Look at the cold air coming from the north east of europe... brr...

carled, wow
that's done a huge turn around since last night. The cold air was only just clipping Kent !
The weather models have been all over the place in the last few days, I wonder if they'll stick with the cold prediction this time?

Cedric, Its called "rubbing it in" . Having looked at long term weather predictions for over a year, it has become plainly obvious that anything over 4 days is a best guess given the data. Anything over 7 days is a stab in the dark.

Frosty the Snowman, that's about right, I'd say. At the moment, for up here, anything beyond 48 hours seems to be a wild stab in the dark.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
