Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mt Ashland, Oregon

As I'm out in Oregon seeing my dad, I thought I would try the local ski hill at Mt Ashland.http://www.mtashland.com

It's a small resort sat on top of the highest mountain in the area, base elevation 6300' and top is 7500', 23 runs, all of decent pitch, one nursery slope but nothing gentle to progress onto, it is a real intermediate+ hill Unfortunately due to bad season it was spring skiing conditions but showed what a wonderful place it would be in fresh snow.

All the runs are good pitch and the bowl area looked amazing but I chickened out of it as was on my own ! Chairlifts are all old fashioned style non detachable with no safety bar. Did find some lovely snow at the top but very hardpack off the groomers as I found out getting lost in the trees and having to ski the boundary path Embarassed

Would love to ski this place in a decent season as the bowl looked almost like a mini Corbetts couloir.

So if you ever find yourself near here in a decent snow year I would recommend it for a sidetrip.
