A friend of mine is thinking about getting a bone density test - she had a minor fall last half term and broke her arm - but is worried about the effect a positive result might have on her travel insurance. Does anyone have any experience of this they could share?
thanks

Not really, but one of my mates has osteo and she does what everyone else I know does... self insure.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I had a test after my fracture which showed osteopenia - a lesser degree of bone thinning and no doubt common in my age group. But if your friend is much younger than I, and had a low trauma fracture, I'd say she should go ahead with the test as it might show up a serious problem.
I don't take any treatment (did try the medication but had bad side effect, for the first time in my life). I must say, it didn't occur to me to declare it - I just answered the questions - but maybe I should have.

I have osteopenia (well that's what it was diagnosed with in my 20s, it won't have got any better, might be worse) and it didn't occur to me to disclose either. You've got me thinking now....

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I just assumed it would be 'material' and therefore should be declared.
She's a really keen newish (3 weeks) skier and doesn't want to stop but can't afford to 'self-insure'. Did wonder whether the Carte Neige would work - are there any medical questions with that?

You'll need to Register first of course.

@snowlamb, If you buy online, for the first Carte Neige you have to have some sort of medical. However, when we bought our first ones (9 seasons ago) we just bought them over the counter and no questions were asked. Obviously, since then, we've been renewing which doesn't require a medical.
Which makes perfect sense. Not at all.
