Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Knee specialist in Sheffield?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Can anyone recommend a sports physio and/or knee specialist doctor in Sheffield? Need some diagnosis and advice to get through next week's ski trip and longer term plan for repair. Need to bypass the GP gateway standard response of "what do you expect at your age" and "if it hurts stop doing it"

Thanks

After my knee op the sports physio I saw was helpful but not much help to get back to skiing, !!
the surgeon was superb... but he's in Huddersfield . After surgery he proposed plenty of stuff to help, but if you mention them on here the "medically trained " trolls come out ..not worth the slanging match with em I'm afraid Smile

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@On the rocks, I think the guys at Northern General have a good reputation and I've read of a Sports Injury centre up there as well - Sheffield Centre of Sports Medicine or something similar. Don't you have to be referred though these days if using the NHS route any way? I'm not familiar with the system any more as I've been out of the UK for too long.

I've used www.kimbaxterphysiotherapy.co.uk/ on Ecclesall Road before now for a knee issue. I'd definitely recommend.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

+ 1 for the Northern General in Sheffield (Orthopedic dept). I was treated there recently following a (non ski related accident). Had surgery following a tibia plateau fracture. Surgeon (Mr Mills) was excellent and outcome so far is good.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

 You know it makes sense.

+1 for the sports injury clinic, if you can get in to see them. They've fixed a lot of my mates with hockey injuries. But I think they'll only deal with new injuries, not management of existing ones.

It would be very unusual for a clinic to turn away existing injuries
