Poster: A snowHead
|
Hi, I'm hoping someone who lives or works in Les Gets can help. We're going on a family holiday to Les Gets in Feb and our little boy (11mo) has a dairy intolerance and can't touch cows milk or soya milk. Does anyone know if the local supermarket or pharmacy stock any alternatives such as oat or almond milk?
We'll take as much as we can but its bulky and heavy so doubt we'd manage to take a whole weeks worth!
TIA[/img]

@stu330, I have seen it in bigger French supermarkets, but couldn't say about the smaller ones. What does he have at home?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Can you get him used to a suitable formula milk by then? Powdered milk takes up much less room/weighs less and then you know you have enough if you can't find appropriate alternatives locally.

We take it frozen in flasks when we drive out, but obviously that is not possible if flying.

Catered or not? Driving or flying?
Chalets etc will get it for you if you ask. If you have transport, you'll find it in bigger supermarkets - stop on the way or try the supermarket outside Morzine.

SuperU in Taninges and Carrefour in St Jean def have it in the Bio sections. I'll have a look in the small supermarket in the village next time I'm in.
ETA - If they don't then I'll get some for you before you arrive and swap it for some golden syrup in a squeezy bottle, easy.

@Hells Bells, can I have some?
I wonder if the French would like haggis. Could have a problem persuading them to eat neeps, mind.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Wow, thanks guys, unbelievably kind.
We are staying with esprit, so hoping they are used to this kind of thing.
He is currently on oat milk and almond milk.
We fly out on 22nd feb so will keep in touch.
Thanks again

@stu330, tell Esprit as far in advance as possible - they'll do one shop a week, much easier if they can get it then rather than not realising until you turn up and having to find someone to go out for it.
