Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Do the Marker Piston Bindings on K2 Apache Recon Make a big Difference?

I am considering the Apache Recon. Do the package bindings make that much of a difference? Or am I just as good buying them without, and mounting my Rossi 120's on them?

When I was demoing last year, the package of skis and bindings was 1 euro cheaper than skis alone...

how old are your rossi's? how much use have they had? I have always believed that if you are spending the cash on a shiny new pair of skis them they deserve a shiny pair of bindings to go with them Toofy Grin go on you know you want them

Firstly do the skis come with the option to mount your rossi bindings?

IMO Markers can be a little unreliable (I still have 2 pairs Sad Wink). Rossi bindings that are made by Look are, IMO, the best alpine binders you can get.

Actually I was looking at some used skis with rental bindings. I would put my 120's on them. They are only 2 years old. But I was wondering if the IBX with the piston etc. really makes the ski perform noticably better.

goose, if i remember right the recon comes with the IBX plate attached, so unless you want to go skiing on skis that look like swiss cheese i would leave it there Toofy Grin
