Is is because the Swiss have laws against boastfulness and fun?

Looks like you'll have to add the Swiss accident prevention bureau to your enemies list DG...

It recommends that skiers:
- Wear a helmet that fits properly and meets safety standards

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Richard_Sideways, he will let that one slide (scuse the pun) because they are being open and up front and also they are merely 'recommending' rather than mandating.

Shurely tho a recommendation means they've looked at the statistics and come up with a contra-Goldsmithian position, aka 'Wrong'.

I think safety bodies are bound to recommend ski helmets as things stand. As the years roll by the trends in serious head injuries will determine whether they are right.
As for helmets providing a mounting point for your GoPro ... perhaps the cam should be integrated in the helmet shell to deal with this safety point.
[perhaps I've now blown it in terms of lodging a patent in that regard]

I'm sure the Illuminati and the Bilderberg Group that control the evil anti freedom capitalist helmet conspiracy are already on to that. In fact I heard they had Schumacher nobbled so they could precisely make the point that all the helmets they had previously sold were now unsafe and everyone should buy new ones.

We are through the looking glass people... I'm lining my helmet with tinfoil to prevent beams, rays and waves...

I imagine I will not be allowed a knee mounted camera either, as knee accidents are twice as likely as head accidents.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@blahblahblah, "I could have been an extreme action sports star, but I took a camera to the knee"
I think we have a new SH meme...

Integrated GoPro mount? The Giro Edit, I believe, does that.
I'm encumbered by working in clinical statistics, so I suppose I should not be surprised by how the press works.

That even does 3D, has an amazing built in motion control system as well and can be switched off in the blink of an eye (though I am not sure how much storage this saves).

@johnE, Actually the frame rate is pretty terrible, zoom is cumbersome, and slow motion relies of software. Plus focus is often a problem after a 'good' lunch.

One of the reasons I prefer my Drift over the GoPro is that it can be mounted on the goggle strap so far less likely to remain attached to the helmet in the event of a tumble, and no physical/adhesive mounts attached to the lid.
