Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Christmas week in Oz en Oisans?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We go to Oz regularly, so know it pretty well, but this year we have had the chance to extend our normal first week of the season trip into Christmas week too.

I was just wondering if anyone else here has done Christmas week in Oz, and if so what it was like in the village? We have two little'uns (3 & 7) to cater for, and I'm thinking about Christmassy activities for them as well.

We were in Alpe d'Huez last Christmas. Don't know about the Chrismassy stuff (we go to avoid all that) but the snow was a bit thin down in Oz with ski access only via Alpette.

We did a couple of years ago - Santa arrived by parachute then handed out sweets to the kids! I hope Nick D says he does it every year

I was there at Christmas last year. What sort of activities were you looking for?

It is a village, so not that big. Short pedestrian street, nice ambience. Good sledging slope (just out of town past the Poutran cable car station).

Was in Oz a few years ago at Christmas, and will be there this Christmas also.
From my memory, Santa comes down on the 24th as a torchlit descent. Piou Piou (small chicken) was around also. The village put on a load of drinks in the main street.
Great ambiance, and children had a lot of fun.
Prior to that, Santa visited a lot of the chalets with small gifts for the little uns.
There were a lot of fireworks, but I can't remember if this was Christmas or New Year week.
Does this answer your question?

PS if you want a tree, go to Spar in Allemont. If they don't have, we got one from the Spar in ADH, strapped it to a rucksack and skied back with it. Got some great photos of this!!!

Enjoy your Christmas - we may see you there (our children are similar ages - 4&6)
