Thinking about a late minute switch from St Anton (and wasting some hotel deposit money) given the poor start there.
Anyone at Ischgl at the moment willing to comment on whether its worth doing it ?

@mayr, Well if you can wait, then I could bring you some via: Brighton - Les Menuires - St Foy - Cervinia - Pizol - Montafon. Long story.
What flavour do you want? Original?

Arriving tomorrow, glad to see it snowed almost everyday this week, we will be staying in Kappl but will ski Ischgl.

Not sure your weather stats are right. Been sunny most of this week...It was previous week that nonstop snow happened. Snowing now but also high winds so many lifts closed. Same forecast tomorrow.

@biddpyat, @mayr, go play in the Paznauner Thaya trees around lift E3 - best place that I know of in Tirol to ski in during warm snowy/rainy weather as they're all above 2000m. Lots of mellow but fun terrain.

But no fun in high winds when the lifts close

@mayr, doubt that lift'll close. It's sheltered, and almost all of it below treeline.

Maybe not but difficult to return from this area if other lifts are closed!(like they were yesterday)

That's our usual starting point. Skip the queues for B2 and B3 and a few gentle warm-up/hangover-testing runs on 30/31:)
Not sure it's hard to get back from that corner, just maybe a little poley if the flat drag, G2 is closed on 37. That gets you to mod-station and home/back up to Idalp.
Of course if you're instructing I can see how the students might not appreciate it!

Yesterday and much of today Fimba was shut due to strong winds. This means an uphill walk from shortly after the flat drag you mention, to get to the middle station of Silvretta.
Walking uphill is not something I like
