Poster: A snowHead
|
My daughter is racing at the Irish open in October and we have never been to the slope before.
Anyone know the best wax to use for an u10 racer?
We are not sure whether to use Data Graphite Wax or CH4..
Are there sprinklers on the slope?
Any other general tips gratefully received.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Take some liquid wax ( best option ) or spray polish ( cheap ) If the sprinklers are not working well ( if they have them ) then a quick wipe/spray before each run will give an advantage.

Thanks, she has been racing all season on plastic.
I appreciate speed wise it may not make a difference at her age. More what will protect my investment in her slalom skis the best!
We have zardox and gloop. Just wondered if anyone knew any local tips!

I've used CH4 on my sons skis for dry slope at that age with a wipe of Zardoz before he leaves the gate.
Sharp edges are more important than mega slippy!

nicoledan1, Slope is in excellent condition - all sprinklers working. CH4 is spot on or as others have said any hard wax will be fine. Make sure edges are sharp and try to keep them sharp between runs. Its a very well run weekend and is also the clubs 50th anniversary so should be a great occasion.Try to get there for Friday night practice ( included in entry fee ) and Do a good course inspection;) See you there

Thank you for all your help everyone.
The sprinklers were out in force (as was the torrential rain for practice on Friday).
The CH4 and edging must have worked well as she won the U10 Euros on Sunday!

nicoledan1, There was a new pump installed the Wed before! And yes the it wouldn't be the Irish without a torrential downpour.

Thanks all.
Meant to add thoroughly recommend the races. Very well organised, great hospitality and a brilliant laugh - even with the rain!
