Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sweet rooster helmet Q?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi All.

I'm going to replace my helmet and I'm looking for one that will give excellent protection. I know there are minimum standards but I want one that goes beyond that.

I've heard Sweet are superb and I can get a rooster at a good price. However, what are your views on the breathability of it. I normally use a Giro G10 and in Scotland and Norway I have the vents closed and in spring open them. I don't want to get helmet that will leave me with a roasting head.

Any info appreciated.

Cheers
Bob

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

As an owner of a G10 MX who used to sell Sweet and recently tried a Rooster as a potential replacement, I think they have very different fits; sadly didn't work at all for me so unfortunately no experience skiing in it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

glasgowcyclops, been skiing in the rooster for a number of years, replaced the old one last year for a shiny new ltd edition one, fits me very well, i was concerned about the no vents thing but it has never been a problem, (and i ski mostly at the end of the season when it is warmer)

fit is everything just like ski boots if the sweet works for you it is great, if it doesn't fit your head shape then it isn't

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

That reassures me.

glasgowcyclops, I have the rooster and love it but as CEM, says fit is all important. The Sweet helmets though have slightly different fit so if the rooster does not fit maybe the trooper will.
I heat up quickly and the rooster liner gets soaked quick but have not found it to be too hot which was a big concern for me prior to purchase
