Just wondering which Tokyo airport has the most frequent/convenient flights to Sapporo as we can get to either for the same cost from Dublin.

Doesn't really matter. Just don't change airports.

Haneda has more flights to Sapporo. It's a nicer airport too IMO. Closer to the city if you have time between flights.

When I've skied Niseko I've flown to Japan via Narita and had a couple of hours layover there before the internal flight to Sapporo. Seemed plenty of flights to Sapporo during the day, so no shortage of options.
On the way home I've flown from Sapporo to Haneda as I usually have a few days in Tokyo and as MagSeven said, it's an easy journey by train from Haneda to the city. Flights back to the UK have been from Narita, and the hotels in Tokyo I've used have had a very convenient direct coach transfer to Narita so no worries about carrying ski luggage around the train system.

briand6868, just be careful if you are getting Lufthansa as they have some very old planes on the Tokyo route and it proved very hard to get my ABS sorted. I would check to see what plane it is before booking. . The plane was ancient, worn, uncomfortable seats and I had no entertainment system for the entire flight back from Tokyo. Not even an apology offered. I found them nearly impossible to try and sort the ABS, this was only sorted after the 5 call to them. I found them very poor altogether. On the way over, however, I was lucky enough to end up flying on a co-share with ANA, who were great in trying to help with the ABS. Really nice flight and very nice company to deal with. Unfortunately you can't book with them from Ireland.

Dublinfella, From Dublin fly to Dusseldorf and pick up ANA's Dreamliner flight To Tokyo. I've also been on that LH plane! If you enjoy a drink or two be aware that SAS have started charging economy passengers for booze on flights to/from Japan while other airlines restrict them to one drink per meal. briand6868, you might want to check out flights via The Gulf in case Mr Putin closes Russian airspace to sanction-imposing countries!
