Poster: A snowHead

I've not traveled out of Luton for ages.
Anyone have a decent Valet parking company they could suggest?
Cheers

all the companies do it these days, i used aph a couple of years ago and had no issues they have a space o/s the terminal and were awaiting my arrival, they give you a card to with a number to call when you land and the car is o/s the terminal when you get out, you then check the car for any damage and then leave, i had no issues, it was cheap enough, i would use them again!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We regularly use a company called Central Car Storage who were recommended by a mate a good few years ago. Very reliable indeed.

You can even have your car washed whilst you're away.

Be careful. I can often be a bit intellectually challenged, especially at 4am but I went round the 10 min dropoff zone twice before realising that the valet drop off zone is further on. Go past it and turn right into the short term car park and turn right. It wasn't clear on the booking form and I was nearly late for my flight.

Its not valet, but I use the medium term. Its about 1-2 minutes on a bus from the terminal. So easy and not a bad price if you book earlyish.

You do need to book early at Luton. I usually only pay £30 or so for a week but last time I left it too late and it was nearly double.

Thanks Guys; booked tonight.
Gone for the lazy option as we will be taking (at the current count) 6 pairs of skis; 4 pairs of boots and the usual other stuff. moving that lot around will not be fun!

We used it a few years back, was brilliant with 2 small kids and loads of baggage until OH realised he'd left his wallet in the car which was being taken off site Thankfully, recovered in time.

I like to use Meet'n'Greet elsewhere but at Luton I always use the medium stay as it is so close. As Mike-H says it is a few minutes max, and if you book ahead it is not expensive. Also, when booking last time I was offered a £3pp "fast track" security upgrade which was the best £18 i had spent for a long time.
I have even walked back there on arriving late at night to save waiting for a bus (to do this, you have to ignore the fire-and-brimstone signs about how walking is forbidden, and climb over the pavement railings in order to cross the road. I haven't been arrested yet but probably the pavement police have a warrant out for me).
Having said that, if I had all that luggage, I might well spring for the Meet'nGreet option. Not sure however if they offer the security upgrade.

Car park at Luton is literally right next to the terminal

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I may need to use Luton Airport in September, a couple of hours drive away from my home. I will only have a hand luggage wheeled bag but can not cope with walking long distances. Does any one know how the cheap parking options work in this respect at Luton? Are the car parking spaces potentially a long way from the bus stops? And do the buses run frequently?

CaravanSkier, Busses from the medium-term car park are frequent and stop right outside the terminal. In the car park, the bus stops are every 100 m.
Have you considered the train? Luton Parkway is one mile from the airport, served by a frequent shuttle bus. If travelling on the West Coast main line, there is an hourly service from Milton Keynes Central to Luton Airport - journey time 50 mins. For East Coast travellers, there is a bus from Stevenage to Luton Airport.

You know it makes sense.

Thank you for the information quinton. I have thought about the train, but from where I am it makes more sense to go from Heathrow if I`m using public transport, and the flight costs are similar. Just trying to weigh up all the factors of cost/versus convenience in respect of which airport to use.
