Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi,
Thinking of driving to Avoriaz for a ski trip next year. First of all is it easy to park ect (never done a driving holiday before, but the cost of flights is getting high with the kids).
We are a part of 2 couples and 2 kids, any good recommendations on where to stay?
Also any advice on childcare welcome, my children are 2 and 5, my 5 year old can ski a tiny bit?
Thanks x

Only the hotel block as you enter the resort, facing Morzine ( is it Dharma?) has its own parking, as it is a car free resort. This means that you either hire a horse and sled or lug your stuff up by foot. We stayed there last year with friends that had a 4 yr old, and he managed to ski, but I am sure that there are better resorts for youngsters. Personally, I found it to be very crowded for mid Jan, and quite expensive, but if the snow had been better I probably would have loved it. Narrow links and crowds are not my favourite, but then it has a water park and world class snow parks.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, have a look at

and their chalets in Ardent. Easy drive, easy parking right outside the chalets, childcare on tap and ski school from age 4, they send a 'helper' along in the lessons with the children and take them to/bring them back from lessons if required. Very easy access into the whole Avoriaz/wider PDS ski area. Never stayed there myself but know the area and I have friends who have stayed there about three times and in their other resorts a few times too. Worth a look.
