Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Traffic and transport prospects for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin are coming into focus, as the smooth movements of athletes, organisers and spectators are vital to the success of the Games. Many private cars will be banned from mountain roads, with 'park-and-ride' bus shuttles and extra trains laid on. Turin itself will remain an "open city", but 60km of lanes will be reserved for accredited Olympic traffic.

The organisers are optimistic that things will run smoothly. Others predict "disruption" and "disaster".

I've just driven through Sauxe D'oulx and huge area's have been changed into giant car lots. I do hope they will covert back to the green fields they were before, when the games are finished.
