Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Big new 'ski the world' book published

Jimmy Petterson - legendary ski photo-journalist - has a new book, and it's seemingly quite a production. Sadly I'm not looking at the work itself, but this is extracted from the blurb just received:

'Skiing Around the World' runs to 440 pages, covering no fewer than 47 countries to ski. It's rich in text, as well as photos: roughly 50 percent of each, including approximately 600 colour photos. The book has a size of 24 by 34 cm (9.6 by 13.6 inches), and weighs close to 7 lbs.

The important thing about Jimmy Petterson is that he travels relentlessly. I remember reading some fascinating stuff by him about skiing Etna (a quick check of the book's Italian content reveals that both Etna Nord and Etna Sud are covered, along with the off-piste mecca of Alagna). Apart from a multitude of destinations in mainstream Europe and America (both north and south), there are lots of ski spots in Eastern Europe: all the Balkan republics, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan etc. Plus China, Japan, India and Korea.

Check out the content in more detail here. The cost of the volume is 57 Euros, including delivery.

If you get hold of it, please file some comments.
