Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Moiuntain Sun / Chalet Melezes

Thinking of fitting in one last short trip of the season. Was looking at Chalet Melezes in Tignes, but will be travelling on my own and can't decide whether this is the right option.

Looking at other threads it sounds like a place that gets used by big groups - so perhaps not so single-traveller friendly(??)

Any experience / advice from those that have been would be great.

Staff are very friendly there, and the bar always seems a relaxed place to be regardless of one big group or several smaller groups.

Make sure that travel from the airport is included and suits your flight times - public transport starts getting a bit sparse late season.

chocksaway, transfers were actually a big part of looking at Mountain Sun.

I had originally thought of finding myself an apartment in Le Lac/Lavachet, but I'd rather not drive and couldn't see any other way of getting between Geneva-Tignes-Geneva this late in the season.

I'm there now. Staff v friendly, especially Jam the dog.

We looked very hard for a place in Tignes and I think this is about the best value.

Jam is a fan of cake but is so well trained, will only take if offered..
