Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

On the 18th of April, Jamie Barrow set a UK snowboarding speed record in Verbier at 151.7 kph (just shy of 95Mph)

Kudos to Jamie and his support team.

Thats awesome! How far out from the world speed record for snowboarding is it? Anyone know what the british and world records are for skiing?
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, quite a way off i'm afraid, 201.907km/h (125.459mph) by Darren Powell (Australia) at Les Arcs on 2 May 1999.
But I give Jamie a moral victory for not using hard boots...
The current world record for skiing is 251.4 km/h (156 mph), held by Simone Origone.
Another worthy UK mention goes to Kevin Alderton who holds the world record for speed skiing record of 162.45 kilometres per hour (100.94 mph), hampered only the fact he's blind.

I SO had this idea about 4 years ago... Only my jet was mounted to the tail of the board... and used a proper jet rather than electric fans... and mine would've been far more deadly...

Outboard motor for use with snowboards on flatland... actually just thought of a way to do it...
All i need is an old board, a reconditioned large capacity turbo charger, some steel tubes, some high temperature paint, a spark plug, some petrol, some oil, assorted pipework, a small electric pump and a power supply, a fearless snowboarder test pilot and access to flame retardant snowpants
