Poster: A snowHead

Thinking of buying this with freeride pro for a bit of side country action. Anyone skied it? Seems stiff but not too heavy.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Got a pair of Volk Katana V Werks for Xmas with Marker Baron bindings.
Really phenomenal ski, does pretty much everything well except really tight turns.
If tight(ish) turns are executed well given its turn radius.
However dwelling on the positives; everything else it does it does wxceptionally well.
I'd argue this is a true all mountain ski, does everything aside from really tight carving turns - even then other's superior technique might even allow tight carving turns!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

P.s., atrocious spelling / grammar / comprehension. Iphone post with sticky ad in the way whilst looking after one year old. Oh and generally a poor comand of written English...

GeraldR, I thought the Katana was very heavy? Would make sense with all that metal in it...

A couple of days ago I came across a rather smug German on a pair of Katanas, not the old style ones but the Vworks Katana. These are a totally different beast to the old ones, all carbon and spine, even with a pair of marker tours they were ridiculously super light. The guy bragged that he had done five days heli on the early March monster snow up in Monta Rosa (well I would too) and they killed the POW but on anything less than soft they were like running on flat tyres. I guess due to the weight and the side wall only really being at the edge of the ski around the foot there is a serious issue with damping so that every bump transferred straight up into his body. Still that's the price you pay to ride a pair of skis that look like a stealth bomber...or knight rider
