Poster: A snowHead

Girlfriend's parents enjoy cross country skiing but desperately need new equipment. They claimed there is nowhere to buy in the UK, I thought this sounded a bit unbelievable but I am struggling to find many places and any remotely close where they live (Derby). Can anyone suggest anywhere?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Cheers for the link. Looks like they were right. Scotland or the south.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks. Doesn't look like they are stocked in the Nottingham store. Guess size, try, return to store. repeat. I suggested buying when next year when they are next abroad too.

They do seem like a good deal and it is classic that they do. I quite fancy having a go myself sometime but I can't bring myself to spend a day doing it during my one week a year of snow holiday.

I am hoping for some snow this winter to go and have a play on the High Peak trail with them!

Can't they buy abroad ? TBH there will probably be a much better choice and the £ / € rate isn't that bad (I'm assuming they are going to Europe). Plus you can always nip back to the shop to clear up any issues that occur immediately
Just came back from Finland where we finally got some xc gear having been doing it for 6 years and the cost wasn't too bad and they had a massive choice. Staff were extraordinarilary helpful too.

Whereabouts in Finland? I'm off to Akaslompolo (insert umlauts) at the end of March, and though I'm happy with my XC skis, I could do with some boots that aren't Alpina women's. I need a women's fit for the narrow heel, but the narrow toe is less good...
