The Show is now in its 41st year and will take place at Earls Court 2 from 30th October to 2nd November.
It used to run for 10 days, including two weekends, but was then cut back, running from a Wednesday to a Sunday.
Now another day has been shaved off. |
Will 4 days mean a better show?
From an exhibitors point of view I guess its much better BUT will you visit?

Nope shows are clearly going down the toilet unless they are about comics, erotica or foo/ property porn. In the Merde Live was a farcial idea for that very reason.

Nope. How long it's on for has no bearing on whether I would go or not. It was tedious in the extreme and a bit tacky last time I was there

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I suppose they'll charge 20% more for a ticket to make up for it.
Resorts are well covered as are holiday companies.
Gear is generally crap.
Unless the manufacturers support the show by having stands with their new products, the show will be nothing more than a jumble sale.

I've only been once, it cost me nothing for travel (I was down for work) and I got free tickets. It still wasn't worthwhile. So that's a no then

Might go if I have other reasons to be in London as they they have promised me free tickets after I complained how rubbish it was last year (when me and the kids went on free tickets). Much worse than previous years where they at least had the big air ramp.

I like it.
Oh half got some ski boots and googles last time we went and I got some excellent ski pants.
Maybe it's because we have so little choice up here that it's nice to have the things together you might want to buy and have choice. I know it's all available online but I like to see, try and feel for real.

I had free tickets and thought it was rubbish! Nothing to see or do really. No exciting new gear. Best thing about it was getting £5 tickets for the gadget show and getting a go on the electric bikes

kat.ryb, yep, we only went for a couple of hours as part of day in London, best bit for us was the intro snowboard lesson Chloe had, Emily finding a new hat on the Zaini stand and C turning on the small, blonde and cute routine to score herself a very impressive collection of freebies

davkt, same here. Half a day of the kids being cute at people and making out like bandits, and the Riglet park was great. Would I pay full price for the 4 of us to go? No, but with a cheapie or freebie ticket its a nice precursor to the season. Will continue to go while the discount entries can be found.

i've gone to a couple of shows in recent years (but not since 2010).
Went as much to meet up with friends and family (kids there for work) as to see the stalls.
But went purposefully on the quieter days: Wednesday and Thursday.
I don't want queues and crowds.
If now only 4 days, then could be busier on that first Thursday, and people like me will be put off.

Good for bumping into a few people you know, buying sausage on a barm and very overpriced beer. Vague skiesh theme - Like an expensive terrible Wetherspoons with penguins (vast empty space, smells a bit of wee, tacky bbuy this sh*t flyers everywhere) or a very poor man's Bodo's Schloss

It was good up to a few years ago but then took a nosedive and a lot of the spectacle was done away with - dont think I'd waste my time with it anymore - didnt go last year and 2012 was pants

I like it. My kids love it. I get sack loads of toot, which I then use as bingo prizes on our school ski trip! For me it's part of the calendar...
