Poster: A snowHead

hey everyone, i'm an Australian student currently doing year 12 and looking to get over to Canada for the season as soon as i finish school. just wondering if anyone on here has any experience in doing exactly that (im aiming towards Whistler, although i've been told to steer clear of it), and any tips for sorting everything out. Thanks in advance and happy skiing c:

No no Aussie has ever done a season in Whistler. Good luck with your pioneering.
Get a job at the WB Aussie job fair, get accomodation in the rookie ghetto in staff housing.

Why? And are you going to take as much notice of any advice you get here, because if so we might as well not bother.

just from what i've read and been told by a few people, i get the impression that whistler is a bit more of a tourist type destination and could get a bit busy, im all ears when it comes to taking in advice at this stage

Err yes... It's the biggest resort in N. America, is quite well know worldwide, and is close to a big city, so yes it does get one or two people there.

haha all of what you said is exactly what i meant, its bound to get crowded by people doing exactly the same thing that i want to so there is definitely a decent amount of aussies that end up there? enough to warrant a mistaken accent anyway

My nephew is working the season over in Sun Peaks, and having been over there recently can confirm he is loving it. I'd say >50% Aussies on the staff roster, w Brits, Euros and even a few locals thrown in; a friendly mix. A nice resort w plenty of v good skiing. Worth looking at.
