It's a great little ski area, only one long chairlift and two drags, but plenty of terrain. Lots of fairly steep tree lines and pillow fields. |
Sounds like my kind of place, though two lifts too many

Blimey. Looks like the Dolomites let Austria have some too, to join in the fun.

DB, well worth it, I think they're getting more in the next few days too! Take chains though, if we didn't have a Finnish driver we'd definitely have needed them!.

clarky999,
I think there is a fine line between shed loads of snow (so much that roads & lifts are shut or avi danger is very high) to wet grass. Was thinking maybe somewhere around Badkleinkirchheim (Forecast to see around 60cm new today if Bergfex is to be believed) would be optimal as it's also 3.5 instead of 4.5 hours drive from here.
I see some resorts saw 100cm fresh yesterday

Sölden (circa 1:15min from St Anton) has around twice the base of St Anton at the moment but by April that will probably change.

kitenski, any ski resort to the south within how many hours/minutes you want to drive.
Saying that, while amounts of snow are much lower than normal in Tirol, the quality of what's down is still excellent. Had another great day skiing pow at Nordkette today, for example...
