Poster: A snowHead
|
Got a pair of boots (Elipse 9) and the Toe and Heel plates need replacing - Brighams want £30 which sounds a bit steep for a bit of plastic! Anyone got any ideas? Anyone else making these and can they be ordered over the web?
Cheers

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

That is expensive. Ring the guys at lockwoods. They should have them. If not they will order you some and hopefully not charge you 30quid. Be careful not to wear down your heel pieces too much, once the screwheads have been ground away, it's very hard to get them off and will cost you more than 30quids.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

£30 doesn't sound too bad to me. Have you tried phoning Salomon?
(oh, and if you get cat-tracks, they'll last a lot longer the next time)

NorthWestFace, they are plastic/rubber grips you put on your boots when not walking on snow.

Cat tracks are rubber crampons for the bottoms of you boots. Tip, if you buy them buy the size smaller than you need, then take them home put them in a pan of hot water until soft and then stretch them over your boots and let them cool.. The grip plate may slide off but can be re-glued after. This way they won't fall off when dancing in your favouite bar.
