Just noticed that he is sponsored by them.
From SD's website:
"Away from more conventional related sponsorship endorsements in main stream sports, former British Olympic skier, adventurer and BBC TV presenter for Ski Sunday, Graham Bell joined Nevica as an ambassador for Nevica’s ski wear range and is actively involved in the development of the range."

Just another brand that Ashley has bought to put the name on his own cheap and nasty cr@p!

Not quite retina-bleeding enough for my tastes, though I'm digging the 3 panels. I'm distressed to see the Campri have lost the horrific back prints as well. Sic transit gloria dayglo.

I'd be willing to bet that the £22 Campri jackets Mr Ashley is knocking out will be about 10x more waterproof, warm and durable than those I learnt to ski in. On the down side they don't have an iffy picture of a snowboarder doing a mute grab on the back in christ-on-a-bike yellow. Accordingly: I'm out.
If they were properly horrific I'd have one like a shot. Not to be worn ironically, you understand, I've just got awful taste.

I hope you lot all realise that moguls are actually the burial places of those poor deluded sods who have not spent hundreds on the elite labels. If you don't buy £100+ goggles, £500 jackets etc etc YOU WILL DIE and be skied over for the rest of the season by those of us who made the right choices. Simples.

Nevica used to be a top skiing brand. Being reborn, - a bit like Dunlop clothing with Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood in golf!

Same thing Ashley did to Karrimor - a properly fantastic British kit brand. Now knocked up cheap and nasty.

LukeRibs, got to agree on Karrimor. I bought a rucsac from them back in c.2004 when they were going into administration. I've dragged it half way around the world and up and down many hills and it's a tough as nails. BF bought similar looking one from Sports Direct last year which is falling apart already through far less use.
Scot_Ski, at least that's a bit easier on the eye than this week's!

do agree that the sports direct stuff is probably pretty shat. but on the same note is there really any need for average joe skier spending good money on a 300 quid jacket 50 quid merino thermals etc! when your skiing its not really usually that cold. i skied last week in knee deep powder 3 days running in some nice columbia pants 50 quid i think some 3 quid socks a t shirt, 6 quid quencha fleece and a tog 24 cheapo softshell that was 40 quid. the only bit of me cold was my face so the buff came out. and when had finished a run i was too warm as the buff was trapping all the heat in.

Simples - buy up whats left of last years stock in whatever clown sizes are left at rock bottom prices. Pile it high and flog it to the burger munchers...

My 500 quid Halti coat (Size: Medium. 70 quid in TK Maxx) isn't crap.

TK Maxx IME have a decent selection of models and sizes at the start of the season but it's not that cheap. At the end of the season, they have ludicrous clown sizes left but it's much, much cheaper.

I've gone jacket crazy recently and somehow accidentally bought myself the womens stripey nevica jacket as a backup coat for my holiday on Saturday (well it does match my ski pants and new down gilet so it was just asking to be bought!) I'll let you know how it performs!

rumdiary, If they have what you want then I agree they are excellent. I ordered two large trolly cases from them yesterday (Sunday) at 1530hrs, they arrived this morning (Monday) at 0930hrs. Standard postage rate covered two large boxes and costed £3.99. The No Fear cases were great quality and costed £24.99 each. My advice is to use standard postage unless you want to receive your goods BEFORE you know you need them.

My sports direct chavvy bargain lurid Nevica jacket gets a big thumbs up after wearing it in about every condition in Schladming last week. I particularly liked the extra breast pockets (extra pockets on the breast area, not extra pockets for storing breasts!) which were dead handy for stashing my phone or camera.
