Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

If Mr Bolt sold sponsorship of a finger nail for a few hours he could raise that amount of money for his fellow country men. Come on Usain - think cool runnings.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

were they to get themselves organised and produce such a campaign then I'm sure I and others would support it. Sad that they haven't thought to do that and the Jamaicans have!

I can't help feeling that if the Jamaicans were going to Sochi they would already have needed to pay for all their flights, hotels and everything else.

andyrew, I mean their Olympic organisation would have needed to make some sort of bookings already. I can't imagine there is that much available accommodation at this stage. They also have to airfreight the sled out and arrange flights for the team. Not easy to arrange at such short notice.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

You know it makes sense.

The page still says $50-odd k but in a separate updates page they say they've met their goals overall so are closing the crowd-funding.
Flights may be the biggest issue but that's probably just money and time (or a short private hop to finish): I assume they'd get olympic village accommodation and if an event where late qualification is possible and that has a major international logistics firm as a sponsor can't have equipment delivered on an overnight service then their sponsor will look pretty bad...
