Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Hi - I'm heading to Marrakech in a couple of weeks, and hoping to ski in the nearby resort of Oukaimeden.
Been there once before (by taxi) but was wondering if anyone's tried driving there?
Can't work out how risky it is? In the event of a heavy snowfall, anyone know if the roads get cleared or if snow-chains are easily available?
Thanks for any info.

I've no idea, but do please post a trip report
Neil Neige
. This is something I really quite fancy doing one of these days.
I was in Marrakesh a couple of years ago and found myself chatting to a guy called Abdellatif Ait Wakrim - a mountain guide who had just come back from a 3-month mountain guiding course in the Three Valleys (he was sporting an official gilet - though I appreciate that proves nothing).
Anyway, he seemed very genuine and knowledgeable about an area of France I know enough about to be assured he was indeed genuine. The guy organises group or solo tours/treks into the Atlas Mountains. If no other info is forthcoming and you'd like his business email address, I am sure he would help. Let me know.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for this, Cacciatore. A friend who I'm going with has managed to find a few organisations who do day trips from Marrakech in 4x4s so we should be ok.
Yes, happy to report back!
Cheers.
