Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Poster: A snowHead
Hi there

I am sure that somebody's probably asked this question previously so apologies for the repetition, but I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a private instructor/ski school in Val d'Isere?

We're going a week today so are getting very excited!! Very Happy

Many thanks!

You could try snowhead Steve Angus, he and his wife Clare are both excellent instructors working with TDC in Val d'Isere

+1 for Steve Angus. I had fab lessons a few weeks ago where he accurately pin pointed my post injury issues, put me through drills and was genuinely inspirational. I am skiing better and faster than before.

Just to add a +1 for TDC Val d'Isere in general. About 10 of us had lessons with them last year - 3 groups ranging from intermediate to off-piste - and all of us thought they were great. I was taught by Giles in the inter group, and came on leaps and bounds. I'm no great skier at all but the group I usually ski with were shocked at the improvement.

Steve Angus gets my vote.

Booked him last March, after having scarred myself silly on a really steep red run the year before. He really helped me and took me down a few reds. He helped me "get" the whole reason for pole planting and although I stayed away from reds after his lesson for the rest of the week, I went to Madonna di Campiglio last week and absolutely nailed every red run it had to offer. So chuffed!

Thanks Steve, skiing is now fun. I don't have to panic at every signpost and get my piste map out in fear of encountering a steep red Very Happy

If Steve Angus is fully booked, I'd also highly recommend Rupert Goldring of Mountain Masters.

wns198, what type of lesson are you looking for?

I had the best private lesson of my life with Jimmy Sabadin (Ski Newgen) for off piste/steeps. He's a good guy, and is the by far the best ginger skiing Italian with a Scottish name that I know Very Happy
