Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skiing In The Massif Central? (Central France)

High Has anyone eve been skiing here, its the central France Volcanic range in Central Southern France and contains a Few resorts like Besse Supere Besse and Mont Dore (90KM of slopes!) This area is little known and i can't find much on it, as i will be in Central France soon i was thinking of paying the place a quick visit and seeing what its like, anyone ever been?

Not worth it,, cheaper than alpes, yes but often lack of snow, http://www.sancy.com/pratique/webcams , and its not realy in central france, more southeast if you look at the map, to drive from Calais would take at least 7h, But to say, if its had come alot of snow and temperature below zero, Le Mont Dore can offer good offpist in the gullies

I've been to Le Mont Dore. It's a pretty town, but Skiing was very limited in March as the snow was melting rapidly. Le Lioran looks more extensive, but I've never been there.
