Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Sensible and we'll thought out, but I guess a lot of airlines want to go down the "electronic" boarding pass route though they have their challenges.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

hobbiteater, I'll grant you that Peter Smart's alternative is marginally prettier but it still feels like a solution looking for a non-existent problem. It does have a number of issues:
1. The flight number, arguably the most important thing, is tiny.
2. No mention of class
3. no booking ref for airline - not all desks have barcode scanners
4. a boarding pass that fits inside the passport makes it easier to lose
No frequent flyer details/status
5. Impossible to print at home - do any of us want to go back to paper tickets, old-style check-in etc.

hobbiteater, Fair enough, however, I usually print my passes at home. so mine are on A4
Or I go electronic.
I'm not quite sure that his other problems are worth a web page.
Gates are often not posted until fairly close to departure, especially on short haul. I almost always choose my seat myself (I am quite fussy). I get to the airport in good enough time to orient myself. It's kind of common sense really.
All that said I think it's daft that the format of printed boarding passes (with the exception of Easyjet's rather sweet credit card sized ones, is silly. Portrait, not landscape, excellent plan.

foxtrotzulu, not everyone has class, you shouldn't discriminate like that.

under a new name, But surely there's room for another four letters 'TOFF' or 'PLEB'?

Not too bothered about boarding passes. So far I've always managed to get on the right plane.
I'd be willing to pay extra to be able to pick a seat with an overflow restriction on the immediate neighbours though!
