Poster: A snowHead

Who would vote for Les Deux Alps?
Who would vote for Serre Chevalier?
Not been to either before, usually ski la Tania or Courchevel (I guess we are intermediates), and we are getting confused picking between these two.
Help please!

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

When? What kind of holiday do you like? What kind of skiing? What are you looking for that's different from the Courchevel Valley?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Love the Valley but my wife wants to explore somewhere different. We like cruisy blues and some nice reds, and longer rather than shorter pistes.
We are trying to fly from a local airport too, so either Bournemouth or Southampton which is limiting the choice.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

t40ora,
Both have their fans and both have their naysayers.
L2A has higher skiing and probably some more challenging pistes but the people who dislike it don't like the fact that the area can feel a bit constricted and the resort is certainly no beauty.
Serre Che has a greater sense of travel and the more attractive villages, it also has a lot more tree lined skiing, for intermediate skiing generally I reckon it is the better resort unless the weather is blisteringly hot when the altitude at L2A helps. It is certainly my favourite.

T Bar, Thank you. I think we are veering towards Serre Chev this time.

Only been to Serre Che and loved it. Great choice of runs and plenty in the categories that you like.

My brother went to L2A and found the slopes limited. His other experiences of skiing have been at resorts with more slopes, like Courchevel.
Serre Chevalier has a bigger ski area - personally I'd go there, unless you like high, bleak skiing (albeit with more reliable snow cover).

Not been to either, except an afternoon down in Briancon when I was staying in Montgenevre, but SC is a lot higher up my wishlist than L2A.
