Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Which Ski pass when staying in Champagny en Vanoise?

Hi,

Going to Champagny next weekend for a week and been told that because its so far to the link lift it's not worth getting the full Paradiski pass. Do you all agree or will I want more than 1 day in Les Arcs? I've only skied La Plagne for 1 day before and a week in Les Arcs all about 20 years ago. Any advice gratefully received.

tarrantd, I agree with what you've been advised.
Have a look at the piste map.
There's 5 lifts from Champagny to the Vanoise.
Why bother when you've got all of La Plagne to explore?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

You can get to the far end of Les Arcs from Champagne but it's a bit of a slog. I think it's worth one day over but that is probably enough as La Plagne has so much. I've stayed in Champagne a couple of times - quiet but easy access to a big area.

We spent a day in 3V rather than go over to Les Arcs.

tarrantd, There should be plenty to keep you occupied in La Plagne for a week but equally it doesn't take that long to get across to Les Arcs. We have been at the Vanoise Express just after 10am when we have set off on the first gondola out of Champagny.

The full 6 day paradiski pass will give you access to Les Arcs every day if you want it as well as a day in the 3 valleys and a day in Espace Killy. It takes 20 minutes to drive to Courchevel le Praz from Champagny and there is free parking close to the lifts. Driving round to Tignes / Val d'Isere will take at least 1 hour 45 minutes so is a bit of a longer day out.

The other passes (Paradiski discovery, La Plagne) will not give you access to other resorts.

The queues should be virtually non existent next week so if you want to rack up a lot of miles it is a good opportunity.

La Plagne kept me going pre the link for a whole season without any complaints ! Did have amazing snow that year though wink I'd go with the La Plagne only.
