Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hey up everyone.

Just a simple question this time.

Has anyone been to this comedy festival at Mayrhofen.

If you have can you share your experiences with the group.

ie. cost, venues, how busy it was etc

Thanks

In its early days the festival was held in Meribel and attracted some big names in British comedy. Marcus Brigstock was involved in it from the start which will have helped to get some of the comedians on board. I do remember having friends out one season and having a really good week, skiing during the day before visiting a show in the evening.

I think it is fair to say that most of us kept our prices the same but the festival was a way of attracting more people to the resort in a quiet week. IIRC the organisers did not get a great deal of support from the local mairie and in the end they decided to move the venue.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Apologies for raking up an old thread but we're planning our trip this year for around March/April and on the face of it this suits us (four fellas on a weeks pass Shocked) down to the ground; ski during the day, drink and laugh heartily at night, then sleep (repeat to fade....). Sounds awesome but none of us have ever been to Mayrhofen or even Austria come to that, so I was hoping some of the SH's had stayed in the resort and/or been to the festival and could pass on anything they could; accommodation, flights, getting there, cheap/expensive, slopes etc.
