Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Day Trip from Arabba to Cortina

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello. Has anyone ever taken a day trip to Cortina from Arabba? We are off to Arabba on our annual Feb half-term trip and really fancy trying Cortina for a day.

I notice that the ski school offer a day trip there once a week for Euro 40 per person, but was wondering if anyone had taken a taxi or any other alternative and how much it had cost them. There will be six of us.

Thanks for any advice.

Can be done on ski , if you want a lot of time in Cortina stay overnight on the way - Rifugio Averau or Lagazuoi. Madeye-Smiley

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Tour Ops often do a daytrip, I paid €20pp in 2011 and got to ski Tofana, Faloria & Cristallo areas and a brief look around the poshest Co-op in the world along with all the ladies in fur coats...this would definitely be your best bet.

The minibus taxi guys in centre of Arabba would probably drop you there and pick you up for a price. It's about €8-10 per head, minimum €50 for the taxi, up to Falzarego Pass for the Hidden Valley to give you some idea of what they might charge.

Obviously, you can ski the Cinque Torri and Col Gallina areas from Falzarego before doing the Hidden Valley. You can also get a free skibus down to the Tofana side of Cortina proper from Cinque Torri, but it wouldn't leave too much time to explore before it would be time to head back, it's a fairly long way on skis down the Hidden Valley and back to Arabba.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

You wouldn't want to do the hidden valley and Cortina the same day.
